Between 2007 and 2019, the then Cluster of Excellence “Asia and Europe in a Global Context” was host to almost 100 research projects associated with the Cluster's Research Areas of Governance and Administration, Public Spheres, Knowledge Systems, and Historicities and Heritage. In these projects the transcultural paradigm was tested, sharpened and extended to dynamic processes of interactions and exchange in and between Asia and Europe. In continuation of this legacy, the HCTS is host to a variety of research projects lead by its core academic staff as well as new members.
